March 20 - Top Fuel Challenge, Quit Motorplex
We presented the blown3rotor for licensing at the Motorplex Saturday, and for final scrutineering checks. The ANDRA stewards passed the car no worries, and we were in the staging lanes by 11.15 for our first pass.

Trouble struck in the burnout when after I got the 20B smoking up in the water, I moved forward and rolled on more revs. The blower burst panel blew, due to a weird lean situation in our fuel curve. Back in the pits we had a new burst panel back on the engine in no time. The new intake manifolds and external burst panel periscope work a treat, with no engine damage at all. On first start the blower base gasket was found leaking, so off the blower came to install a new base gasket.

By the time we had fixed the blower dramas and changed the fuel curve, our opportunity for licensing had passed for the day. We lined up in the staging lanes for a grudge race later in the night, but unfortunately was turned away. Our crew and myself were able to learn a lot on the day about becoming a well oiled team.

Next meeting for the car is April 4th 2004 at the Motorplex.
