January 2004     Editor - Paul Carey

Engine Overhaul:
The blown three rotor engine has been completed, installed in the car and run. Gonzo mufflers fitted to the three exhaust pipes quietened down the rotor, but is still as nasty as ever. Dyno runs carried out at SST were halted, due to the engine under fueling under full throttle. A new Enderle 110F fuel pump has been fitted, with extra nozzles to feed more alcohol in. This engine setup is defenitely "experimental" and deriving a tune is proving an engineering challenge, however with good advice, steady testing and data collection a tune will be achieved.

Motorvation 2004:
The blown3rotor team presented the RX-7 at this years Motorvation for display, in the aim of just having fun and enjoying the atmosphere. Thanks to the many people who visited us in the pits and offered support. Good to see Lee Sanders back in his RX-3 smokin the hides.

Next Meeting:
We are booked to complete licensing runs on 31st Jan 2004, at the Kwinana Motorplex Top Fuel night, and maybe enter the Super Sedan ranks if all goes well. Super Sedan and Modified (both dial-your-own brackets) have recently seen their ranks swell with blown vehicles, previously thought to be a disadvantage for racing. The quality of the vehicles and their respective tunes over the last three seasons has contributed in some very consistent times by blown racers, and in many cases has resulted in wins.
