A very wet winter here in Perth has meant much time off from drag racing for me and the crew. More thought was given to our exhaust system, and the side pipes with Gonzo mufflers were given the flick, in favour of a new system from Willeton Exhausts. Wayne has hand built a stainless system under the car using three mufflers - one for each rotor exhaust. The pipes exit at 2 1/2" and exit the mufflers at 3" on the opposite side of the car. This free flowing system should generate more horsepower from the 20B.
Saturday 7th August saw us down at Jandakot Airport for the Fast Fours magazine photo shoot by photographer Adam Webb. Some excellent shots were arranged for the day thanks to David Grimes from Heli West for the Jetranger Helicopter, and from Drew Searle and Darius Pavri of Fighter Adventure Flights for the L-39 Albatros fighter jet and P-51 Mustang fighter aircraft. My aviation background and our sponsor's aviation interests sparked the idea of an airport shoot for the magazine.
The first available Sunday Group 3 racing at the Motorplex was cancelled due to bad weather, so we are planned to turn up on 15th August for testing. The track is not prepared, so launches and half track passes may be the limit to our testing. The first full test and tune is set for Sunday 12th August.
